Having a very crafty week, mostly thanks to halloween, spent the day making cowboys and pirates and monkeys out of little boys and carving scary faces in pumpkins, Sunday was pumpkin soup and pumpkin pie day, I use Valentine Warner's recipe for pumpkin soup: 2 onions, 1 pumpkin, 1 cinnamon stick, cook for 40 min then add a pint of stock and whizz! It's yummy! We've been really productive in the evenings when the boys are in bed this week, made loads of big bow hair bands and Fimo buttons on Sunday night while watching Dream Girls and last night packaged up a load of cards and made some hair clips and hubby printed out some lovely new labels for my hairclips and brooches, check out my folksy.com shop Big hair bows coming soon! http://www.folksy.com/shops/MrsSewandSew

It's business time!

It was my birthday yesterday and having had the day off work to spend with my wonderful husband and take stock of our home/life/work situations we have now launched into a creative, organising frenzy! "The Craft Room" is having an overhaul and much of the childrens old clothes (and my pre baby wardrobe) is charity bound, the house is getting cleaner and more organised by the hour, the lack of claustrophobia has given me a crafty new lease of life and I have made 33 cards and 10 hairclips in the last 48 hours, Adam has made a beautiful new banner for my folksy.com shop and things seem to be going in the right direction, I spoke to a nice lady at Magic Number Three in saltaire about stocking my cards today and I'll deffinitely be putting some in my mum's shop in Crossroads, Maybe we'll make a few pennies yet this year!

Pre-Crimble goodies

On Bronte Old road this week we've been preparing for the festive season with a few fairly unsuccsessful shopping trips, some heavy duty knitting and a bountyful chutney making session. Planning seasonal meals is occupying most of my brain space and some Christmas card making is, well, on the cards. Adam is knitting a stripy scarf for John and a chunky Freedom wool scarf for his Secret Santa at work, I'm working on a spotty/stripey jumper for a twin.
